Guzmania lingulata or Bromeliad

DESCRIPTION

A real star with a showy leaf and full of reddish, orange, pinkish and yellowish colours. Native to South American and Indian rainforests. Green leaves and rosette arrangement.

Curiosities: This bromeliad of the Tillandsioideae subfamily is one of the most prized flowering species for interior decoration.

CARE

Temperature: In a range of 17º to 24º and never below 7ºC.

Light: Needs to be placed in a well-lit area, but never in direct sunlight.

Watering: Keep the substrate moist, but do not allow the water to become stagnant, as it does not tolerate waterlogging. Water frequently in summer, and moderate watering in winter. It is recommended to spray with lukewarm water weekly.

Fertilizer: Use specific fertilizers for flowering plants from spring to autumn.

Transplanting: When they exceed the size of the pot or to multiply them from the division of offspring, when they are half the size of the mother plant.
