The hazelnut comes from the hazelnut tree, Corylus avellana. It is a fruit made up of a fibrous shell that contains a sweet-tasting, oil-rich seed, the hazelnut. Hazelnuts are a source of unsaturated fats, proteins, carbohydrates, vitamin E and B group vitamins, especially biotin.
